The Daytop Preparatory School
Daytop provides services for those who seek help with life's problems compounded by substance abuse. Over 100,000 individuals have reclaimed their lives with assistance of the program. Daytop is based on the therapeutic community (TC) concept: a highly structured, family environment where positive peer interaction is emphasized. Separate and individualized programs are available for adolescents, adults, and all family members. The staff consists of professionals in the fields of psychology, social work, medicine and education, as well as Daytop graduates who have gone through intensive training and certification in counseling. Daytop Inc. of New York is committed to addressing the substance abuse and life problems of adolescents and adults. Daytop contends that people are the captains of their own destiny and only they can do it, but they cannot do it alone. Positive peer interaction is emphasized in a highly structured familial environment known as a Therapeutic Community. Within this milieu Daytop offers an integrated holistic treatment regime, which is multi-disciplinary in nature. Daytop is committed to returning clients to society as productive, responsible and drug-free citizens. Treatment is provided to all clients without discrimination, including those without adequate financial resources. At all times the dignity, rights and needs of each client are preserved and respected thus reducing the stigma of persons served.

Dainty Center/willow Wood School
Dainty Center provides quality care and education starting at age three months. The Willow Wood School program offers comprehensive elementary education from junior kindergarten through 6th grade. Dainty Center/Willow Wood School was established by owners, Shawn and Adrienne "Cookie" Guinn. As one-time residents of the historic Dainty House in Brentwood, CA, "Mr. Shawn" and "Ms. Cookie" opened their doors as a home-based daycare business in 1980. Over the past 26 years, the Guinns have completed many transformative renovations to the property. By adding several buildings, a petting zoo, wonderful play areas, and technology to the property, the aging home and orchard is now a landmark educational center. Today, the thriving, beautifully landscaped Dainty Center/Willow Wood School campus proudly serves to nurture and educate children, their families, and the entire East County community. The Dainty Center/Willow Wood School team is proud of our excellent success in preparing students (and parents) for the challenging years following graduation. Our graduates move on to attend a wide range of public and private schools, often distinguishing themselves as both academic and community leaders. As a model organization of new learning techniques, we maintain a strong reputation among local and regional school districts, and institutes of higher learning - including the prestigious Fielding Institute of Santa Barbara, and the Seybrook Institute in San Francisco. Dainty Center/Willow Wood School is a national model for the acclaimed TRIBES program and serves as a training facility for teachers seeking certification as Tribes facilitators.

Potomac School
The Potomac School mission is to foster each student's intellectual development, love of learning, and strength of character within an inclusive community distinguished by a spirit of support and challenge. We encourage students to become independent thinkers and learners. The School's richly varied curriculum draws students beyond a mastery of fundamental skills toward the rewards in inquiry, initiative and reflection. Believing that aesthetic and physical development are essential to an education, we offer students opportunities to excel in art and music classes, on stage, and on the athletic fields. We strive for diversity in the conviction that a learning community is intellectually and morally strengthened when many different voices, viewpoints and backgrounds are present. We expect students to act with kindness, civility, and generosity of spirit, and, in our daily activities, we find opportunities to foster their integrity of character and civic conscience. More than mere tolerance, this standard calls students to act with compassion for others and to reach beyond the school in service to the community. As we prepare students for a rapidly changing and demanding society, we encourage them to reflect on the beauty that surrounds them and to enjoy the company of their friends and the many traditions celebrated at school.
