Ben Bronz Academy
Ben Bronz Academy is a day school for bright learning disabled students, Grades 2 to 12. Twenty-six faculty guide 60 students through an intensive school day that includes Meta-Learning, frequencies, remedial reading, writing, and mathematics, literature, science, and Social Studies. Oral language is developed and stressed in all classes. Our students learn organization, research skills, and study skills as part of every class. Through frequencies and classroom exercises, they become faster and more efficient at gleaning new information. Twice each year we go on 'Research Weeks.' Regular school stops and we spend a week studying one topic, then travel to a location where we can get 'primary source' information. Every student writes, 'defends', and 'publishes' his original research. How effective are we? Our data tells us that students come to the Academy with a median deficit of 3 years in reading. Eight out of ten students who enter the Academy below level in reading return to or exceed normal reading growth in their first year of enrollment. Of the alumni who have contacted us, 80% have gone on to the Academic or Vocational pursuit they wanted to choose, not blocked by their disabilities.

The International School of San Francisco
In 1962, a bold group of visionaries believed that bilingual education in French could imbue students with an international perspective and skill set that would make them compassionate, confident, and conscientious individuals who would make a difference in the world. We still believe that today. Our community has prepared students to navigate the world with confidence and command, empathy and joy. We achieve this through rigorous bilingual, French, and International Baccalaureate education programs, and a vibrant school culture strengthened by multilingual, multinational educators and families. Our students experience a unique, bilingual environment at The International School of San Francisco. By Grade 8, our students are fluent in both French and English. In Grade 9, our community expands to include incoming students from across San Francisco and families from around the globe. Many of these students are not bilingual, yet they all have a desire to experience the world around them. At International High School, students earn an internationally recognized baccalaureate diploma in addition to a U.S. high school degree. We prepare our students to go on to thrive at the best universities, anywhere in the world. The goal of the college counseling department is to help students find colleges that are the best fit for their intellectual, social, and emotional needs. Through this process, students gain the skills needed to become self-advocates. We encourage students to think broadly, and even globally, in considering their college options. Our students engage in self-reflection and maintain an open mindset as they plan for their postsecondary life.
