Milhous School, a non-public school certified by the State Department of Education, offers on-grounds educational services to all of our residents. The program affords youngsters access to special education teachers, licensed speech therapists, school psychologists, and other supportive professionals on an as-needed basis. Each individual program is carefully carried out by staff members under the direction of the educational psychologist and principal. Our students enjoy small, self-contained classrooms with an average of six students per class, and three adult instructors, including a credentialed special education teacher. Each student progresses at his own level based on his particular Individualized Educational Plan.

Since 1991 River Valley School has been providing a quality private independent study program for a wide variety of students in grades 7-12. The use of the exclusive "Assignment Tracking System", which gives details of weekly assignments and tests for an entire quarter, keeps everyone - student - parent - teachers - on the same page. In addition, the weekly homework instruction appointments with BOTH parent and student encourage students to do their best and keep parents informed and empowered to follow-up at home. Many of our families tried "free programs" that did not work for their students. This year, despite economic setbacks, 100% of last year's students re-enrolled because they are so pleased with their student's progress at River Valley.

Our mission at Atkinson Youth Services School is to provide a safe supportive environment where students are empowered to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Atkinson Youth Services School is a non-public school that provides specialized instruction to students with an Emotional Disturbance Disability and/or Specific Learning Disability. The program also serves Mental Retardation, Autism, Other Health Impaired, and Speech and Language designations. The program is designed to stimulate children to want to learn, to problem solve with others, and develop independent skills. The Elliott Institute is a certified Non-Public School and Clinic specializing in academic, language, and behavior intervention as well as treatment of children with special needs. We offer an Integrated Educational Program which includes academics, language and behavior intervention. There is limited enrollment for 3 classrooms. Our classroom ratio is 2:1. 1:1 Aides are provided per IEP's. Our goal is to return the students to full inclusions with or without an aide or to the special education classroom in their own neighborhood schools.
