The hardware facilities are quite good; the campus is very large and beautiful, but it's isolated in the middle of a vast cornfield, making it quite remote. Annually, round trips to Chicago airport cost several hundred dollars. The school's food is very healthy but truly bland and tasteless, so improvements can only be made by ordering Chinese takeout from Chicago or South Bend, or resorting to pizza from the nearby small town and the school's burger shop. The school's management philosophy has a distinct Midwest character, emphasizing individual effort and self-discipline. To put it bluntly, it's rather snobbish, focusing more on whether parents are wealthy and willing to donate. Humanitarian care is significantly weaker than in the East, and occasionally, helpless children drop out due to depression not receiving effective support. There are over 100 Chinese students at the school. Due to their generally superior family backgrounds, the boys, in particular, tend to lack responsibility and courage, while the girls consistently have a few particularly mean troublemakers who like to stir up trouble and bully classmates. However, overall, most are good kids. A few Chinese parents are exceptionally enthusiastic and knowledgeable, which is touching. Most others are a silent group, only appearing when likes or support are needed; overall, their general quality is mediocre. The school's academic level is average, but its sports level is quite good. Furthermore, most American students attending come from upper-middle-class elite families. Consequently, American students often advance through paths like sports scholarships, connections, military academies, or in-state public universities, while Chinese students primarily rely on GPA and standardized test scores to get into top universities. Therefore, despite the school's overall average level, it is, after all, the number one high school in Indiana.
