Quaker Central High School is committed to creating an educational environment of the highest standards for students' academic and personal development, especially offering a range of advanced courses and college preparatory programs for 9-12th grade students to academically prepare them for college admission.
In a free and egalitarian academic environment, students can freely express their views and feelings, and are willing to listen to and respect the opinions of others. Whether in the learning process or during various sports or art activities, every student can demonstrate excellent leadership and teamwork skills.
In addition to teaching subject knowledge in their courses, teachers also pay special attention to cultivating students' creativity, flexible thinking, and critical thinking, and require students to complete independent research projects.
Besides gaining knowledge from classrooms, students also have opportunities to participate in study exchange programs in countries such as France, Spain, Greece, Japan, and Peru.
FCS offers students a rich array of foundational and academic courses in areas such as art, English, history, mathematics, science, and world languages. There are also interdisciplinary electives to ensure students can enhance their academic cultivation, deeply explore their interests, and lay the groundwork for a seamless transition to university subjects later on.
All FCS courses are taught at an honors level. The rigor of advanced courses is equivalent to or exceeds that of AP courses.
Starting from 11th grade, counselors meet individually with students and their parents, guiding families through the college admissions process, which continues until 12th grade. Each year, over 100 college/university representatives visit FCS to meet with students and answer questions.
