Hoosac School, founded in 1860, is a co-educational college preparatory school. The school enrolls boarding students in grades 8-12, some day students, and offers a postgraduate program. Hoosick is a village of 350 residents located in the Hudson Valley near the borders of New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont. The school is approximately 45 minutes from Albany and Troy, while Bennington and Williams Colleges are within a 20-minute drive. The school has 130 students in grades 8 through 12, coming from across the United States and around the world. Currently, students hail from 11 countries, including New Zealand, China, Lithuania, Rwanda, Canada, and 8 states in the USA. Our fundamental educational mission is to master the methods of teaching and learning. The school's main focus is to nurture students' passions while developing them into well-rounded individuals ready to meet the demands of university campuses. The school is situated in the historically rich and scenic Hoosick, near the Vermont mountains in New York, adjacent to Albany, the state capital of New York. Spanning 350 acres, the school offers ample space, featuring 9 dormitories, classrooms, a wood shop, an art center, a gym, a swimming pool, sports fields, and the 152-year-old Tibbits Hall—a place enshrined in American history. All students from the school are admitted to top universities both domestically and internationally.
