2025 Spring FAM Trip | School Visit Stop 4: La Lumiere School, Indiana

Under a light rain, the GE school visit delegation arrived at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. Despite the uncooperative weather, the school's abundant warmth and enthusiasm made our visit exceptionally bright and welcoming.
The Head of School, admissions team, and residential life director personally greeted us, providing a detailed explanation of the school's academic programs, boarding life, and community culture. With a 1:7 student-to-teacher ratio, La Lumiere fosters a harmonious and friendly learning environment. The close and natural relationship between students and teachers allows every visitor to feel the unique human touch of this school. Even more touching, the Head of School personally hosted a dinner for the GE delegation at their own home.
The campus is extensive and well-equipped, particularly renowned for its basketball program. The quiet and peaceful campus atmosphere provides an excellent environment for students to focus on their studies.

Since 2018, this school has suffered from a weak teaching staff and high teacher turnover. Student quality is also relatively poor. There is a lack of various activities. School staff do not respect international students.
