I've been attending for a while now. The school environment is beautiful, located in a wealthy area; the campus is very safe, and management is well-organized. It's sunny all year round, with occasional afternoon showers. The air is very fresh, making it suitable for sports throughout the year. Students are healthy and not depressed.
This semester, the teachers for the two AP courses are excellent, while the teacher for a regular English class is average. Academics are taken very seriously; teachers arrange self-study and Q&A sessions, and every assignment and weekly quiz counts towards the overall subject grade. Boarding students have various activities arranged on weekends, including school bus transfers for supermarket shopping, and teachers with professional backgrounds lead trips to botanical gardens, or free movie screenings, water parks, live CS games, and so on. There's a good balance between study and life.
The catering is healthy, with plenty of fruit available daily. Accommodation is good, with ample air conditioning, very clean rooms, and complete facilities. Epidemic prevention measures are well implemented, and the school doctor is very responsible. At the beginning of this semester, a few new Chinese students tested positive upon arrival, and the school doctor provided daily care and contact for them. Students who tested positive were arranged to stay in a private villa on campus for 7 days. If there wasn't enough space, they could stay in a Hilton Hotel suite off-campus for free, with daily meal delivery and an additional large bag of free snacks and mineral water.
The school offers a rich variety of club activities. For the debate club, there's a group supporting Democrats and another supporting Republicans; just attending as an observer is very interesting. The Chinese senior from the previous year also brought a Chinese style to the dance club.
International students from Germany, Denmark, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico, and other countries get along very well. There are also students who moved from New York to Miami and chose to board at this high school. Local students are day students and also get along harmoniously. Each grade typically has 5 or 6 Chinese students, and this year I heard one was just admitted to Cornell and another to NYU. It's a very good high school, highly recommended.
