Get out quickly, get out quickly. I've been studying here for 1 year, living in a Korean person's house (marketed as a "dormitory") a 10-minute walk away. It turns out people play games and argue very loudly, and no one can control them at all. A regular house crammed with so many people makes it impossible to study. I asked previous cohorts, and almost no one got into the top 30.

I'm very glad I finally came to St. John's. At the time, many schools made me indecisive. Ultimately, I chose St. John's because I valued its geographical location and its robotics team. After arriving, I was pleasantly surprised by St. John's sports. I personally love playing tennis in my home country, and St. John's tennis courts are truly excellent! Also, St. John's is quite large, but its resources are utilized very reasonably. The library rivals some universities. The teachers at St. John's are also great. When I first arrived, they very enthusiastically helped me, ensuring I understood the knowledge points. After school, when I went to them, they were willing to tutor me, so I progressed very quickly. I'm really happy I chose St. John's!

I really loved my time at St. John's High School!

As a freshman in 9th grade, it took some time to adapt to the school, but the overall learning and life experience have been great. All the teachers are very eager to see you succeed, and the school, in particular, provides an excellent environment for the academic success of new international students.

I understand you've had a negative experience with homestays. Homestay families do not have a direct relationship with the school, but as a parent of a St. John's graduate, we have always had a very good experience with my child's homestay. My son still keeps in touch with his homestay family to this day. I understand that sometimes there can be issues between a homestay family and a student. Initially, our child also had problems with his first host family, but later the agency helped us switch to the Zhu family. Therefore, if there are issues with a homestay, the role played by the agency is very important. Furthermore, your statement that there are no extracurricular activities for 9th graders is completely inaccurate. The school offers many activities for students of every grade level to choose from. Moreover, the school has been expanding in recent years, now featuring a complete university-like campus and several full sports facilities.

Don't go and get scammed by agencies, come to SJ instead. The school has nothing but a few buildings and no resources to utilize. Basically, my 9th grade year was just going to classes in the buildings, with no activities whatsoever. Back at the host family, except for being called for meals, I spent all other times alone in my room upstairs.

My son graduated from this school last year. SJ is a great school for not only academics but also activities. He was admitted to a top college.

Some people always like to talk nonsense in the comments section. Perhaps the child's situation was so bad that they got expelled. The school is quite good; I've been here for four years. I've never heard of anything anti-Chinese, and most Chinese students here can get into top 40 universities.

Mr. Shi once visited and inspected the school, and local parents gave very positive feedback about it. The school is located in Shrewsbury, Boston, with convenient transportation, just a 10-minute drive from Worcester. Founded in 1898 as a college preparatory school, St. John's fosters students' growth into complete individuals: developing comprehensively in spirit, social skills, physique, intellect, creativity, and artistry. At St. John's, students pursue personal growth in an environment that upholds high moral standards.

School Advantages:
1. The computer programming courses and robotics program are excellent.
2. During their four years at the school, 46% of students are admitted to university engineering majors, 26% to computer and information majors, and 22% to management majors.
3. The school's performing arts are outstanding; the school has approximately 50 clubs and hosts over 30 drama, music, and art performances annually.
4. The school's soccer, golf, and baseball teams are all prominent.
5. For students who like STEM, computers, and robotics, this school is an excellent choice. A unique feature of the school is that 70% of 12th-grade students voluntarily participate in the summer leadership academy.

Since 2019, no Chinese students from this school have been admitted to a top 40 university. The quality of students the school admits is generally poor; the students who come here do nothing but play video games, and their host families don't care at all. Our child was forced to propose transferring in the second semester of 9th grade. The school refused to provide a recommendation letter and even threatened us by refusing to refund tuition fees.

I am a student who just transferred out of this school. Absolutely do not apply to SJ; I was scammed by an agency. This school forces students to take religious classes, and there are many rituals. Moreover, the students the school accepts are generally not very keen on studying. Many teachers already have a deeply ingrained notion that Chinese students don't study. The person in the school's international office is Chinese, probably to facilitate recruitment. This school even has 'trash students' who got in with TOEFL scores in the 40s or 50s; they don't understand classes and cheat on every exam. Stay far away.
