Westover does a great job of ensuring that students are supported and cared for academically, socially, and extracurricularly. I feel very safe being here, and I like being in a space that is so welcoming of different cultures and ideas. The transition of being away from home isn't easy but I have made great friends here and I have teachers and advisors who look out for me.

I love the warm sense of community at Westover so much. Everyone here is nice and teachers are incredibly supportive. I feel encouraged to take risk and challenge myself without worrying about failure. I am an international boarder from Beijing, and the residential community means a lot to me. The dorm genuinely feels like a second home to me!

Being at Westover has allowed me to become more involved in sports and in intellectual inquiry. In particular, I enjoy Westover's library services. The librarian is especially helpful in finding sources for my research projects. On the weekends, we have the option to take fun courses from "Bee-keeping" to "Comedy". I enjoy career panels hosted by alums who are scientists, artists, and bankers.

Westover offers a really special experience through not only academic and activities, but also the unique traditions. The best experience I've had here is the winter tradition Candlelight where the entire school and community were invited for performances and celebrations. Many more traditions like Candlelight make Westover a warm and welcoming place.

My experience at Westover has being amazing so far. The teachers and staffs are super sweet and caring to everyone in this community, the good relationship you make with both the student and the faculty are close, and I feel supported in both academics and out school activities through different ways. I truly love this community, and can't wait to deepen my connection with Westover.

Westover opened a new Center for Women in Science and Engineering in Spring 2017. It includes a "Maker Space" equipped with full supplies and tools, which will allow more girls to participate in more projects; a dedicated robotics space will greatly expand our robotics program – semi-permanent fields, better storage, and spacious counter space increase access to every robotics project; a classroom specifically for computer science and engineering electives will support a wider range of individual and group work.

SOMSI: Westover established the Sonja Osborn Museum Studies Internship, which enables junior or senior students to broaden and enrich their dedication to art history through practical experience in museum work. The internship includes a ten-week curriculum developed by students alongside Westover's art history teacher Ali Hildebrand and Hill-Stead staff.
In partnership with the Manhattan School of Music (MSM), a Performing Arts Preparatory Program is offered, where students will receive private instrument, vocal, music theory, and ear training lessons at this world-class conservatory. MSM's pre-college program is a full-day music program held on 30 Saturdays from September to May.
