Wilbraham and Monson Academy is a beautiful and safe place to go to school. It has many opportunities for students to participate in. The specialty program is CEEF (Center of Entrepreneurship, Economics and Finance), if you are interested in business, WMA is the place for you!

My experience here at WMA has been very positive. The course work is challenging and there are a variety of extra curricular activities. There is a diverse student body with 30% international students. I have become a more focussed and organized student, now preparing to become a prefect in to dorm! I am taking 3 APs and classes in economics. College counseling took us to Boston College for a campus visit and I will take my SAT on campus this spring.

WMA is a rare co-educational boarding school for grades 6-12. The school spans over 1.6 square kilometers and is located in the heart of Wilbraham, a small town in Western Massachusetts. Western Massachusetts is also the second most important educational hub in the state, apart from Boston, and is approximately 1.5 hours away from Boston.
The school has a new dormitory for girls, backing onto the school's forest, which can be used for hiking, cycling, and environmental exploration. The school also preserves its earliest building from 1825. The library was completed in 2020, and there are future plans to renovate and build a new dining hall and more girls' dormitories.
The school offers a rich variety of sports, even including a shooting team (the firing range is in the basement of Fisk Hall).
The school features a Center for Business and Global Studies, offering specialized business courses including leadership, finance, and entrepreneurial studies. It boasts the only Bloomberg Terminal system among middle and high schools in the U.S., with 16 computers in its trading center.
To foster the development of STEM programs, WMA launched its Design and Fabrication Space in 2020. It includes digital printing, cutting, and fabrication areas with 3D printers, 3D scanners, and laser cutters; a machine shop equipped with lathes and milling machines; a wood and composites workshop; computer-aided design and programming stations; and textile and photography design studios, among other areas. Students can use the equipment in the iLab at any time with a teacher's consent.
The two students admitted last year were highly valued by their teachers and secured many opportunities for activities and on-campus presentations.

1. More and more good teachers are leaving.
2. Every year, a large number of students transfer out of WMA, and many Korean students have transferred out. The school has a very strong crackdown on Asian students because they want to maintain a white market, so they strongly favor white day students.
3. The school imposes mandatory and inhumane requirements on boarding students, such as having to turn off lights and sleep by 10:30 PM, and not being allowed to study. Dorm supervisors will confiscate devices.
4. The school management is very strict with Chinese students' dress code, while turning a blind eye to American students.
5. The school almost prohibits Chinese students from creating clubs on campus and does not provide opportunities for leadership development.
6. The quality of teachers' classes can be said to be even worse than that of a very ordinary day school in Massachusetts.
7. International students' annual tuition is over 70,000 USD, the food in the cafeteria is very poor, and there's an additional 5,000 USD international student fee for which the school provides no explanation regarding its purpose.
8. The principal and school management have an extremely stubborn white mindset and do not accept any changes.

Do not come to this school under any circumstances; you will regret it for a lifetime.

Parents of students I've interacted with all highly praise the school, believing that the development and growth their children achieve at WMA makes it an underestimated school. When the unrest occurred last year, the principal sent several emails in a row, clarifying the school's stance against racial discrimination and its commitment to fair and equal treatment for students of all ethnicities. During the pandemic, the arrangements for online classes were also very humane, prioritizing the students' physical and mental health. Concrete and effective arrangements were also made for epidemic prevention and control. Chinese students who were unable to return home continued to stay in school dormitories during the holidays and received comprehensive care. When my child encountered difficulties in a certain subject, the teacher specially arranged extra tutoring time for him. For problems my child encountered in daily life, I would email the advisor, who would usually respond quickly with solutions. Some of my child's subject teachers not only hold doctoral degrees but are also very approachable when communicating with us parents via video. My child also feels that the teachers at school are all very kind. I hope the children grow up healthy and happy at WMA!

The campus is large and beautiful, and the teachers are very nice.
*Middle school boarding is concentrated in a small building. The ground floor living room and small dining hall also serve as places for evening self-study. The dormitory supervisor's home is also on the ground floor, making it very convenient to look after the children.
*The catering is rich; there are over a dozen types of salads alone, similar to a four-star Western buffet in China. In the morning, porridge is prepared for Chinese children.
*Each student is assigned an Advisor upon enrollment. Any issues can be addressed with the advisor, who regularly emails parents updates on their child's academic and daily life.
*Before the pandemic, the principal would visit China annually to hold information sessions and listen to parents' feedback. School teachers are always available in parent chat groups to answer parents' questions.
*Academic teachers vary from excellent to average. Our math teacher, for instance, is a highly knowledgeable Harvard graduate. There are many AP courses, and the most famous Securities Market Analysis course is the only one of its kind in the entire U.S.
*There are abundant clubs. My son joined the jazz band, which performs several times a year. The conductor's passionate performances are always very eye-catching.
*The management of international students is very thorough and experienced, including airport pick-ups and care during illness. One time, when my child had a fever, the medical teacher accompanied him to see a doctor and stayed with him in the infirmary until his fever subsided. They even sent me an email reporting his condition, which made me feel particularly relieved.
*During the pandemic, the school's management was the best among all the American high schools I know. Many American high schools required all international students to leave campus, but WMA made humane and proper arrangements for children who couldn't leave, providing centralized management and several dedicated teachers to care for them. During online classes, the principal and teachers regularly held parent meetings to report on epidemic prevention and teaching improvements.

Mr. Easler is a principal with charisma and sincerity, and he has a sound moral compass. As a parent, having interacted with him for 5 years (2016-2021), I feel that as long as he is there, the school will only get better and better, at the very least, it won't decline.

WMA was founded in 1804 and has a history of nearly 220 years. It is a co-educational boarding school offering courses for grades 6-12.
The school has 425 enrolled students, 50% of whom choose to board, coming from 11 states and 32 different countries. International students make up 35% of the student body. Over 73% of teachers hold advanced degrees. The school offers 23 AP courses, 19 honors courses, and 26 art courses, covering a wide range, including 3 AP art courses and 2 fashion design courses. There are 26 competitive sports teams, such as football, skiing, shooting, and water polo.

Wilbraham & Monson Academy, founded in 1804, is located in Springside, west of Boston. The campus spans 300 acres, boasting a beautiful environment and excellent security. The school's academic standing is moderate, and the proportion of international students is slightly high. However, its curriculum is very distinctive, making it ideal for students interested in business and leadership. I once took students for an interview at the school, and found its environment and hardware facilities to be excellent, with highly characteristic courses:

1. The curriculum is very rich. The school's distinctive courses include: Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Global Studies, Securities Market Analysis, Finance, Economics, and Diplomacy.

2. The school organizes student trips around the world every year. A 12th-grade girl has already traveled to over 20 countries, including Taiwan, Australia, Cuba, and India. These trips last approximately 10 days each year, allowing students to experience and feel things firsthand.

3. The school also offers a Model United Nations program, as well as art courses such as fashion design.

4. The school possesses a 'Bloomberg' terminal, making it the only school in the United States, and even the world, with this facility. Overall, the school feels very good, with multiple tennis courts, a gymnasium, and a fitness center.

5. This school is the alma mater of Yung Wing (容闳), China's first student to study in the United States, and has extensive experience in recruiting international students.

6. The school offers a rich variety of sports activities, regularly arranging for sports teams to compete with surrounding schools.
