I am a student's parent. My child has repeatedly experienced low-grade fevers and colds. However, both the dormitory infirmary and the school infirmary refused my child's request for rest, citing that the fever temperature had not reached 38.2 degrees Celsius. Ultimately, it was only after I personally demanded that the school allow my child to rest and go home that they agreed. Schools should prioritize a child's physical health rather than making them push through illness to study and attend classes.

As a parent, when we chose WPS, our top priorities were 1. Safety, 2. Academics, and 3. Accommodation conditions. WPS has greatly satisfied us in all these areas.

I am a mother of a WPS child, and I want to express my special thanks to the WPS teachers. During this year's spring break, my child suddenly fell ill while traveling for the spring break trip. We felt incredibly helpless at the time and didn't have visas to fly there. WPS teachers accompanied us throughout the process and arranged for a female teacher to immediately fly to Jamaica to care for our child 24 hours a day. The school's care deeply moved us.

We have been at WPS for two years now. When we first chose it, we were a bit worried, thinking it only offered the IB curriculum. However, as we slowly watched our child grow, become more independent, and think proactively, we realized that the IB curriculum truly gives children more than just knowledge.

WPS school is located in Orlando, 20 minutes from downtown, and approximately 20 minutes from Disney and Universal Studios. Florida's environment allows children to participate in a great variety of activities. I hope my child can grow up in a happy environment while still achieving good academic results, and WPS addresses both our needs.

When I applied to schools before, I visited many schools, including some boarding schools in the Northeast and Windermere. My impression from the visits was that some older Northeastern schools had somewhat outdated facilities. After the experience, my child decided to choose Windermere, and is now adapting very well.

Before coming to the US, I was very worried about not getting used to the food. After eating here for almost a year, I feel it's okay. The school food is quite good; both the dorm food and the school cafeteria food are decent. Plus, in our dorm, we can cook some simple stir-fries, boil noodles, steam rice, and we usually cook regular meals together with our roommates.

Windermere is an IB school with only two AP courses. Although IB is more difficult than AP, requiring a lot of reading and writing, I learned a great deal during this process, and after adapting, I found that IB is not as intimidating as it seemed.

My child attends school in Windermere, and we ultimately chose WPS for three main reasons: First: Health and safety are paramount. WPS is a boarding school, and its boarding conditions, combined with Orlando's climate and urban security, are quite reassuring. Second, WPS's full IB curriculum is not offered by every American high school. The IB curriculum has its unique characteristics and difficulty, making it both attractive and challenging. Third, as an international student, completing grades 9-12 entirely in an American high school is beneficial for US college applications, for instance, increasing university admission opportunities, and it also helps international students integrate and adapt better.

I am the mother of a prospective graduate from Windermere Preparatory School. Over these years of high school in the US, my daughter's biggest change is that she has become more confident, optimistic, and responsible. Her mind has been honed, her inner strength has grown, and her self-management and independence capabilities have greatly improved. In particular, she plans her own future, discovers her interests and hobbies, and considers their potential impact on her future career choices. As my daughter said, she has begun to understand who she wants to be in this world, where she wants to go, what she wants to do... In short, my daughter knows that everything she does now is about taking responsibility for her own future and contributing to society.

WPS arranges various activities every holiday and weekend. The most unforgettable one is the horror night held at Universal Studios. Every Halloween in October, Universal Studios builds haunted houses and different haunted zones. One of this year's themes is the very popular North American singer, The Weeknd.

WPS is a diverse school that frequently hosts various cultural celebrations. For instance, every November, students from the Spanish class typically decorate the Cypress Center and invite a band to celebrate Mexico's Day of the Dead. The school also organizes special activities for senior students, such as watching the sunrise and a senior lunch, allowing us to enjoy our last year of wonderful high school time. This year, the school also approved senior students decorating their parking spaces, and I participated in helping my day student friends paint their parking spots.

My daughter initially chose the school because it was next to Disneyland and Universal Studios. I was also afraid that a highly touristy environment wouldn't be ideal for studying. A friend of mine previously complained to me that the dorm wasn't on campus, which wasn't very convenient. However, as someone who has transferred and experienced different schools, Windermere's dorms are the most comfortable I've ever lived in. They're townhouse lake-view rooms, and there's also a commercial area around the dorm, so it's actually quite convenient.

I've been studying at Windermere since 8th grade. Perhaps because I've been there for quite a while, in 10th grade, my teacher recommended me for the full IB program. But there's no need to worry too much if you find it too difficult; you can choose a mix of AP, Honor, and IB courses. Once you've made your selections, your guidance counselor will assist you.

The school's COVID-19 protection measures are quite comprehensive. I confirmed my enrollment at Windermere the year of the pandemic, took online classes for a year, and immediately chose to fly to the US once I was able to. Upon arriving at school, I didn't need to be isolated separately because I had been vaccinated. It's been over half a year now, and everything is normal. In fact, as long as you protect yourself well, it's not as scary as you might imagine.

Last spring break, due to the pandemic, I returned home. Since then, it's always been online classes, staying at home every day. Classes start in the evening; sometimes I stay up late, and sometimes I watch recorded lessons the next day. On weekends, I attend TOEFL and SSAT courses. Now that I think about it, back in school, the dorm supervisors would arrange different activities every week. On Wednesdays, we could be assigned to go to Target, and there were also trips to Disneyland, Universal Studios, shopping malls, ice skating, bowling, and more. After so long with the pandemic, I still miss those times a bit.

From returning home last year for online classes until now, online classes are indeed not as good as in-person classes. There's a time difference, but thankfully, the school also offers recorded courses, so I don't have to stay up all night. I'm currently taking online classes in my home country. Most of my classmates are also taking online classes domestically. We submit assignments on time, are active in class, and generally get good grades. The only downsides are a lack of activities, limited interaction with classmates, and a different language environment. Before, many foreign friends were still in school dorms, and it seemed like they weren't too concerned about COVID-19, which made me less nervous too. I'm just wondering when travel will be allowed again so I can hurry back to school.

As a parent of a WPS high school student, I've had a lot of worries during the pandemic. From returning home to attending online classes, my family's routine was initially chaotic. Gradually, we adjusted and found our rhythm with the children. The school also established a WeChat group for parents and held one-on-one parent meetings, which helped us parents feel a little more at ease. I just hope the travel ban is lifted as soon as possible so the children can return to campus.

The pandemic actually feels alright; I take online classes in the evenings and can catch up on some lessons on weekends. It's much more convenient to take TOEFL and SAT within the country. I regularly communicate with my school's college counseling teacher via Zoom and WPS. I've now also received admission offers from several schools, and I get to eat home-cooked meals every day, which feels pretty good.

The school environment needs no further elaboration. What's remarkable is that even in such an environment, a very strong competitive atmosphere is maintained—those who excel can study in their own dorm rooms, while underperforming students are restricted to public areas. This serves, more or less, as a form of motivation and also reflects the school's pursuit of its values.
