各位专家、家长好：我女儿今年8月即将就读美国宾州的一所寄宿学校。学校要求提交的关于体检的表格内容理解的不很清楚，请各位帮忙，谢谢大家。表格中“If plans to participate in athletics,please complete all 5 sections of the PIAA（宾州高中的体育联盟） forms”.请问athletics的含义是什么，是专业体育运动呢还是泛指参与的一切体育活动呢？是参加像校队、校际、州际比赛这样比较专业的体育运动的运动员需要填写PIAA的表格，还是只要是参加学校正常的体育课、体育活动或CLUB...都需要按PIAA的表格要求进行体检呢？
In many boarding schools, students are required to participate in athletics. Athletics mean any type of sports, be it varsity, junior varsity or club. Varsity teams are the top teams of a particular sport. Junior varsity team members may in the future be elevated to varsity teams if they reach the varsity level. Club sports are for students who want to do sports but do not want to go to competitions/matches.
Even if a student only want to do club sports, he or she should still fill in the PIAA form.
