Unfortunately, thanksgiving is one of the biggest holidays in USA and very few people or organizations would work or open for this time. This means that it is totally up to students to create some creative schedules. Few groups are trying to develop programs and we are one of those groups. In terms of a more meaningful experience, it would be a good opportunity to participate in volunteer work. There are many local communities in America which would appreciate the assistance of any volunteers from ages 14 and onwards. For example in the attached link, you can see in the community of Cleveland, there are opportunities such as Habitat for Humanity, helping to serve food for the less fortunate and interacting with young children. Therefore, the first step would be to start searching online to to see how you can contribute to the local community.
