I do not suggest that you stop school for one year as the academics and extracurricular activities will matter when you apply to boarding school. You have 2 choices:
1) Try and get into a not so good boarding school now (there are still some places with spaces), and it will be easier for your daughter since the schools need the space and they may settle with a student whom they would normally not accept, or
2) Take intensive English program on the side to get her TOEFL, writing and SSAT scores up.
