I graduated in 2024 and it had been such an amazing time staying at Ranney. The high level classes they provide, such as APs and other college level courses, prepared me super well entering college. I am also a three varsity athlete and had a great time playing high level, competitive sports. The faculties are extremly knd and helpful. In particular, Mr. Lauber had been such a warm teacher. Not only he organized a bunch of Chinese cultural events but also he took care of the international community very well.

Teachers are supportive and easy to approach. Small class sizes help students get more attention. However, the school has some limits. Some courses are only open to certain grade levels. Students cannot always take advanced classes early. Course choices can also be limited by scheduling.Overall, Ranney School offers strong academics and good support. The school provides many opportunities and an excellent experience, but it has some limitations.

Ranney School is a welcoming community where many different kinds of students can find their place. I have personally met really supportive teachers and good friends, and I have found that there are so many opportunities available once you take the time to explore. My interests have been encouraged through both clubs and classes, which has allowed me to grow in different areas. Some of my favorite experiences at Ranney have come from electives, where I was able to work on projects that I genuinely loved and felt proud of.

My Child's Growth at Lanny School

As parents, sending a teenager to study abroad inevitably brings a mix of anticipation and apprehension. Reflecting on our child's nearly year-long journey of learning and living at Lanny School, our initial concerns have gradually been replaced by immense satisfaction. The school has provided our child with solid growth across three dimensions: academics, extracurricular clubs, and daily life. What has touched us most profoundly, however, is the professionalism and patience exhibited by the teaching staff here.

Academics: A Temple of Rigorous Scholarship and Wisdom Illumination
Lanny School's academic rigor and depth command our deep respect. Here, our child is no longer a passive recipient of knowledge but a curious explorer. The small class size model ensures that every child receives ample attention, fostering an active and inspiring classroom atmosphere. Under the guidance of the teachers, our child's critical thinking and interdisciplinary skills have improved rapidly. This robust academic training has instilled in them great confidence for the future.

Clubs: Fertile Ground for Unearthing Potential and Holistic Growth
Lanny School deeply understands that education extends beyond textbooks; it lies in character building and talent cultivation. The school boasts a rich array of student-led and student-managed clubs, offering children a broad stage to express themselves. Through these activities, our child has not only forged close friendships but has also learned resilience and responsibility through collaboration and competition. This holistic quality education is precisely at the core of what Lanny advocates, encouraging every child to uncover their limitless potential and become a responsible global citizen.

Life: A Warm and Loving Second Home
Being a stranger in a foreign land, what parents worry about most is their child's daily life. However, at Lanny, we feel incredibly at ease. It is a day school, and international students integrate into local life through a homestay program. The school provides comprehensive logistical support, from well-balanced meals to diverse weekend activities, demonstrating thoughtful care for its students at every turn. Homestay parents treat the children as their own, providing meticulous attention and care.

Educators: Hearts That Bridge Mountains and Seas
Among Lanny's many highlights, what moves me most is the harmonious and close student-teacher relationship. Regardless of their busy schedules, teachers consistently show great kindness and patience towards students and families. From thousands of miles away, I have communicated multiple times via email with various subject teachers and college counselors regarding my child's studies and growth. Each email has received a detailed and kind reply from the teachers promptly. They are thorough, professional, and warm in every aspect.

Sending our child to Lanny was a well-considered choice, and the school has proven the correctness of this decision through its actions. We are grateful for the dedication of every teacher. What our child has gained here is not just knowledge, but also the confidence and broader perspective to face the future.
