Saint Anthony's High School is a well-known private Roman Catholic college-preparatory high school located on Long Island in South Huntington, New York. Founded in 1933 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, the school continues an 800-year Franciscan educational tradition centered on the principle, “Capture the heart and the mind will follow.” Saint Anthony’s serves students in grades 9–12 and is one of the largest Catholic high schools on Long Island. The school attracts students from more than 100 school districts across Long Island and Queens, creating a diverse student body and broad regional community. Admission is selective and based largely on the Catholic High School Entrance Examination and academic performance. Academically, Saint Anthony’s offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum that includes Regents, Honors, and Advanced Placement courses. The school currently provides about 24 AP classes and nearly 100 electives, along with partnerships with local colleges that allow students to earn college credit while in high school. The school is nationally recognized for its athletics, especially football, lacrosse, basketball, track, and hockey. Its teams, known as the Friars, have won more than 170 state championship titles across numerous sports programs. Saint Anthony’s also has strong arts, music, theater, and extracurricular programs, with over 75 clubs and organizations available to students.
