Salem Academy

My daughter is about to complete one semester (second half of tenth grade) at this school. Overall, I have been very reassured this semester, and I'd like to share some fragments and my feelings:
First, my daughter often shares with me her views when chatting with teachers or discussing lecture topics. These teachers include, but are not limited to, subject teachers, college counselors, FTC robotics club coaches, administrative staff, and other staff members I hadn't known about previously, such as learning specialists who teach students how to schedule their time... From my daughter's feedback, I genuinely see that in private schools with a good teacher-student ratio, students receive a high level of attention.
Second, my daughter often shares interesting stories from her chats with classmates or older students. Due to living in the school dormitory, my daughter frequently interacts with many international students, such as those from Italy, Australia, or other parts of the United States. They have many interesting stories from cooking in the kitchen on weekends, even small things like the difference between an Italian classmate cooking pasta and us making noodles. My daughter reports that students from various countries and regions, who have traveled far, often have a very strong academic drive.
Third, the school offers many activities, from ball games to horseback riding, field trips, debate competitions, robotics competitions, Model United Nations, and so on. My daughter and I joke that in our country, these activities would be enough to generate many, many WeChat articles for promotion.
Fourth, the atmosphere of the girls' school was something I hadn't anticipated. It's vibrant, but the overall environment is very friendly, loving, and peaceful, which is excellent and very suitable for quietly growing up during high school.
Finally, my daughter transferred from a key class in a top high school in China, so her academic foundation is solid, and she sets high standards for her own learning. I'm pleased to see her exposed to more diverse cultures, setting her own goals and working towards them, and developing her self-management skills.

Salem Academy is located in the historic town of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with a very quiet and beautiful campus environment. We enrolled in this school in 2023, and there are many reasons for choosing this academy. First, North Carolina, where Salem Academy is located, has experienced rapid economic development in recent years and is a major destination for population inflow. Second, North Carolina boasts rich educational resources, including world-renowned universities such as Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and NC State University, making it convenient to choose a college within the state and find employment after high school. Third, Salem Academy is North Carolina's top-ranked all-girls boarding school, with a 100% college acceptance rate and very high amounts of scholarships secured for university applications. Fourth, the school only admits high school students from grades 9-12, offering small class sizes where students receive extensive attention. My daughter has many good friends, the relationships among classmates are very deep, and they have a strong sense of belonging to the school. The teachers are also highly qualified and very patient with students. My daughter is very happy at this school. She has joined the robotics club, and participated in the tennis and fencing teams. The school's safety management is also very thorough, giving parents great peace of mind. In my daughter's class, there are students from different US states as well as various countries like Germany and South Africa, creating a diverse culture and a very relaxed environment.

Founded in 1772, Salem Academy is a private, college-preparatory school for girls with a family-like atmosphere. The school creates an excellent environment, helping students lead fulfilling and happy lives and grow into thoughtful and accomplished women. The school emphasizes integrity, responsibility, and the pursuit of excellence.
