The Crefeld School’s mission is to pioneer a progressive, alternative learning community for secondary school students. Crefeld’s primary strategies for student success are its small size and personal attention, its flexible and creative approaches to problem solving, its focus on demonstration of essential skills and knowledge, and its respect for individuals and community values. The Crefeld School strives to create a diverse community in which all members are safe, respected, and valued. Crefeld assumes that all students can learn and that all people learn differently; therefore all students must work to discover their own learning styles, build on their strengths, develop compensation strategies for their weaknesses, and become advocates for themselves as learners.
