Since 1922, The Stony Brook School has set out to develop students of character and leadership. The rigorous curriculum is combined with training in the arts, competitive athletics, study of the Bible, chapel, and numerous leadership opportunities. The School offers 19 AP classes; independent learning projects; an integrated and hands-on middle school (grades 7-8); 15 athletic teams; theatrical arts society; international club; Christian Fellowship; FOCUS; trips to NYC, camping/canoeing; and weekend activities both at local attractions and in faculty homes. ผมเป็นคนไทยคนเดียวใน SBS แต่โรงเรียนทำให้รู้สึกเหมือนมีบ้านอีกหลัง ได้รู้จักเพื่อนๆจากทั่วโลก บรรยากาศอบอุ่น อาจารย์ดูแลนักเรียนใกล้ชิด คุณพ่อผมก็เป็นศิษย์เก่าที่นี่ SBS' 95 และท่านก็ยังรักษามิตรภาพกับเพื่อนและอาจารย์มาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ เป็นข้อพิสูจน์ว่าสายสัมพันธ์ที่นี่ยั่งยืนจริงๆ
สิ่งที่ประทับใจมากคือการดูแลเอาใจใส่ของโรงเรียน เมื่อสองปีก่อนผมมีอุบัติเหตุทำให้กระดูกขาหัก ต้องผ่าตัดที่ Stony Brook University Hospital พยาบาล อาจารย์ และเพื่อนๆ ดูแลผมอย่างดี ทำให้ผมที่ไม่ต้องเผชิญกับมันเพียงลำพังและผ่านมันมาได้ในที่สุด
ผมพักที่ Hegeman ตลอดระยะเวลา 3 ปีที่เรียนที่นี่ แม้ตอนแรกหอพักจะดูเก่าอยู่บ้าง แต่โรงเรียนมีการปรับปรุงทุกปี ซัมเมอร์ที่ผ่านมาผมดีใจมากที่กลับมาเจอว่าห้องทุกห้องในหอมีการติดแอร์ด้วย
โรงเรียนนี้มีทำเลที่ตั้งที่สะดวกมาก โดยเฉพาะกับนักเรียนต่างชาติ ขับรถแค่ชั่วโมงเดียวก็ไปสนามบิน JFK และ LaGuardia ได้ และมีสถานี LIRR หน้าโรงเรียนอีกด้วย
ถ้าให้ติอย่างเดียว คือกิจกรรมวันหยุดยังน้อย เพราะมี Day Students เยอะ แต่โดยรวม SBS ดีมากครับ ภูมิใจมากที่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของที่นี่
