Cheshire is an old, established school, and has been in existence for over 225 years.
For most of that time, we have had international students. We know what we're doing and we do it very well. All of our students go to university, most go to top 100 Universities, and our Chinese students in particular go to the best of the best. Last year Chinese students entered Cornell and Brown and this years results look just as impressive.
If students like math or science, we have an extremely competitive math club that recently placed in the top 50 at the Harvard-MIT math tournament. We had two students place in the top 2% nationally on the American Math Competitions and also place well on the AIME.
For others, we have model UN, eco-club, and other leadership opportunities. We have an Art Major program which places students every year into RISD, Pratt, SCAD, or other top art schools.
Finally, we have an IB program that teaches our students to THINK and not just recite. They learn to form arguments and WRITE and not just memorize. Our graduates return each year and talk about how much better prepared they were for college than their peers.
I can't speak to the numbers of Chinese students at other schools, but at Cheshire our students all integrate, they all love being here, and they love being friends with students from all over the world (30+ countries). We're preparing global citizens, and neither an all american environment nor an all Chinese environment would be right.
